Only sold through dealers and one of only two dealers in AZ have not received any in quite a while. They still get lots of the 1oz @ 1600 fps "red" TAP but not the "blue" TAP. On line rumors of it being discontinued.

1oz @ 1100 fps is a real sweet spot for my lupara and the VersaTite was is amazing.

Do I have any other options in that range? I see a lot of 1.125ox @1200 being called "low recoil"

Remington Managed recoil (I use the LE version which is just sealed primers and tighter QC (they say)) has those specs. It has not, unlike Winchester low recoil slugs, been inconsistent for me. I can lob them thru an 8" window target at 100 yards off hand if I am careful and regularly proned out. The lead is VERY soft and they expand alot with not too much penetration.

Thanks for the tip. It looks like they make both a 1.125oz (9 pellet) and 1oz (8 pellet) @ 1200. The lighter one is a possibility.

What about the short 6 pellet buck shot from norvell is it. Check the name of the manufacturer.

There is another brand and does Aquilla have some as well?

Nobel Sport Centurion has the same velocity as the Herter's (1250 fps) if that is the one you were referring to.

Whoops! The Remington manged recoil loads I mentioned are SLUG loads not 00 buck. In 00 buck I too find the Fiocchi load very good!

Top choice>>>Federal Premium law enforcement 00 buck with Flitecontrol at 1145fps (LE133 00).

Thanks, I will check them out. Found this on line:
Federal "Tactical" 2 3/4" 9-pellet - LE132 00
Federal "Tactical" 2 3/4" 8-pellet - LE133 00
Both are low-recoil loads rated at 1145 FPS and have the Flitecontrol wad.

I've shot a lot of the Fiocchi 00buck low recoil after picking some up on sale early last year and was impressed with both the performance and manageability, I even talked my shooting buddy's 13 year old granddaughter into shooting some and I think at this point she's shot it more than I have!

Pretty sure that only comes in 9 pellet@1150fps. Most manufactures 9 pellet reduced recoil loads are in the 1150-1200 fps range.

PS. Still no reply from Hornady.
