I have an older model SRH 454 casul with original wood/ploymer grips.

I am not overwhelmed by the recoil, but see all the new ones (and on the new 480 and even the 44mag) come w/ Houge Tamer grips.

How much do the new grips help, and would you recomd. I get them?
Price? Easy to install? How?

The SRH original grips were hard on the web of my hand, got the Hogue monogrip, it was better, but the Tamer was betterer:).

Beterrer sounds good, r they easy to install?

Where is best place to get good price on them?

Have them on my 44. Love these grips! They really do their job and make 44 mag shooting a breeze.

If you have small hands, it is really hard to reach the trigger for a DA pull.

I've been told that the Tamers work great but whatever you do, do not get the regular Monogrip. I got these last year and they gave me a nice flinch to have to work out. They're too narrow and don't fill the hand. The palm swell beat me up like it was designed for it. This with only 355's at 1350fps. A friend said it was worse than full bore .475's out of a much lighter gun. His .500Max was much more comfortable to shoot with 525's at 1200fps. I went back to the old style factory rubbers.

I have the Tamers on my SRH Alaskan. These grips are the best I've ever owned. The soft part at the hand web really is soft, and does a great job on recoil.

As CraigC mentioned their is a difference between the Mono and the Tamer. Get the Tamer, I think you'll be happy.

The Tamers do a great job on recoil, but they also blistered/peeled the skin off the web of my hand after a 50rd box or so. I never tried, but I suspect they'd be a perfect combo with a thin leather glove.
