Well this weekend in in Houston for the stock show. Anybody got reccomendations for any local gun stores in the area? I wanna find some military surplus style guns but any gun store is fine with me. Thanks

No trip to houston is complete without checking out Collector's Firearms at Fondren and Richmond. It's like a museum where you can buy the exhibits and take them home with you.

well i did go check out collecters firearms and i must sy they have ALOT of really cool guns. I didnt purchase anything but i really like the siaga shotguns. they didnt have any 12s out but the 20 gauge is pretty sweet.

Dang, I haven't seen much surplus in regular gun shops in years. Not counting Mosin-Nagants. Of course, Collector's Firearms isn't exactly a regular gun shop.

I guess if you want to see a long time Houston institution, visit Carter's Country. They have four locations, but the one up in Spring off of Treaschwig Road is my favorite. Mostly because they have an outdoor range there for pistols, rifles, and shotguns. http://www.carterscountry.net/

I live in the greater Houston area and so far, I haven't found a gun shop that I really like. Although, I think that looking online at texasguntrader.com is excellent for finding what you want used at sometimes very reasonable prices (sometimes people ask way too much, but that's how it is anywhere right?). Just use the Houston tab above and see what people are selling in this area!

Although 10ring, which is a more of a small reloading shop (where I go for a lot of my supplies), has a small, but adaquate selection of guns as well. Definitely the most personable/friendly gun shop in the area. But no real surplus military weapons there unfortunately.

Adding http://www.collectorsfirearms.com/ and 3301 Fondren Suite O, Houston, Texas 77063 to my personal map of Interesting Things In Texas -- from their site, your description seems apt.

Thanks!

Collector's is great.

There's a dumpy little gunshop/range in Pasadena where you can rent FA guns as well (Pasadena Gun Center).
