My two GP11 consumers. Have about 2K of GP 11 on hand mostly '79 manufacture and some 84. Also have about 500 rounds of privi that I am trying to trade for GP11.
No pictures, but my K31 is my "trunk gun". The gun shoots better
then me. I do need to get a few more magazines, and just found a
place that has them in stock.
Owen is correct. It is a Styer Standard 300M CISM and it is ridiculously accurate. I believe it is one of only 100 that were officially imported into the U.S.
The 7.5x55 Swiss is a great cartridge in the K-31 but loaded for a modern firearm it becomes an incredible cartridge. In the Styer with the 178 gr. Hornaday match bullet it is generating 2750 fps with 1/2 MOA groups and not even breathing hard.
I did mount a Leupold Vari-X II 6-18 target scope on it and it will hit the gong (top 18" of acetylene tank) at 600 yrds. without fail.
Next stop, 1000 yrds
dak0ta: That is the cleanest stock I have seen on a K31. Did you redo it?
Iencac: I now have to start looking for one. Hopefully they are more plentiful in EU.
AFY if you can lay your hands on one, do it. The one I have is the only one I've ever actually seen although I've seen just one a couple of years ago on Gun Broker. They were produced in the mid 90's. Of all the rifles I've owned, and that is many this is the only rifle I've ever had that from a clean barrel will place the first fouling round EXACTLY on the spot and every round there after. It is stupid accurate. And it will produce equally tight groups with the GP11 ammo albeit slightly lower. The GP11 ammo which is 174 gr. and has a .304 dia. bullet produces 2550 fps from this rifle.
As you know it is made in Austria and everything about it is of absolutely the highest quality. The trigger is perhaps the best I've ever used and is adjustable in more ways than you can shake a stick at. If you find one that is complete it should have the Anshutz match sights with it. 10 rd. removable magazine with the comb being adjustable for length and height with an insert that will tilt the butt pad like 30 degrees towards the shooters shoulder.
I traded a NM 1903 for it. I had $800 in the 1903
I have seen one of those Steyr CISM rifles chambered in 7.5 Swiss here in Nebraska. It is exactly like yours with the Steyr diopter sights. Very nice indeed!
lencac, the owner doesn't have it up for sale. One of the other shooters in our Swiss club said he could never get the owner to say how much he paid for it.
