How about crime free zones?

With the popularity of gun free zones at schools and shopping centers, why not just have crime free zones? If posting a gun free zone sign disuades criminals from shooting people, wouldn't a sign banning all crime stop shoplifting and purse snatching as well as just mass murder?

Too late. I went beyond that a while ago and did not only a "Crime Free Zone" poster but also several others: "Death Free Zone," "Flu Free Zone," "Debt Free Zone," "Old Age Free Zone," and "Gravity Free Zone."

The first two seem to be working so far, which makes me happy. The third one works intermittently. The last two don't work at all.

I also did a "Bad TV Free Zone" but it seems to have been counterproductive and might have increased the amount of trash pumped being pumped through my television set. Destroying the sign didn't help. Once the flow started it can't be stopped.

They had signs posted that said:

"ILLEGAL ACTIVITY PROHIBITED"

Does anyone remember the college where the printer got the signs wrong and the administration posted them anyway?

I heard that students clogged the switchboards to get one when they found "Free Guns Zone" posted all over campus.

They probably thought it was like the laptops they got when they registered, only more useful and not subject to obsolescence before they graduated.
