How are the Nikon Monarch scopes?

Still working on getting my hunting rifle set up the way I want it.

Not in too much of a rush, I have a Mueller 2-7x32 on there now, and it works ok, but I want something better.

Leupold is still on the table, but I am not also looking at the Monarch line of scopes from Nikon.

Where do these rate?

Very nice glass; easily the equal of a VXII and mo' better than a VXI or Fullfield II or such.. They hold adjustment well and are repeatable in their adjustments.

I have a handful at the moment (although I'm probably going to sell a couple of the ones I'm not using) and all in all I've been pretty happy with 'em.

Excellent optics. A bit less eye relief than say Leupold VariX III, but better optically than the VariX III. Since the old VariX III is about what a VXII, I too would say better than VXII. I just haven't used VXII or VXIII very much for a good comparison.

What are you mounting it on...they look real nice on HK 94s matrix style
