How big are the deer in your area?

I live in the central section of the lower pennusula of Michigan. It is NOT a farming area but we have a Ton-O-Deer and many grow to considerable size.
Even with a low population (of people) our county leads the state in deer car accidents.... riding a motorcycle on most roads after dark is a death sentence.

A monster buck around here would carry a live weight of 250 - 300.

My largest was a 140 class 9 point that weighed 221 pounds field dressed. He's the fourth ranked bow deer of all time comming from this county.

My son shot a 8pt last year that dressed out at 221lbs. it was about avrage weight but the rack was'nt much. We are farming county, and have large deer but you have to find 10pt or larger to get real nice racks. By the way tonite I saw a doe nursing 3 fawns 75 yards from my nephwes truck, he was back in the woods sitting in his tree stand.....thats why it's hunting

I don't know, about this big.

Biggest deer I have seen in Iowa dressed out at about 250. I have friends that claim to have shot bigger, but I haven't laid eyes on them though.

Have seen does get dressed out to about 180 or so.

Here in southern AZ we have a sub-species of whitetail called Coue's whitetails. They are small little buggers. A 100lb buck would be a whopper. They're fun to hunt, hopefully next weekend I can connect on one. School has kept me pretty busy, I hope there are still some deer in the same area they were at last year. We can shoot one deer per calender year in AZ and are on a lottery system, except for archery. But if you get drawn for a rifle hunt and buy an archery tag you can only fill one. We also have mule deer in AZ.

Here's a link in case anyone is interested:

Big enough to give plenty of meat, yet small enough that I hope my M4 5.56 with 62g Barnes Triple Shock bullets, loaded for accuracy, will drop one.

Here in Texas, deer tend toward the small; some call them "doggie deer," and not without good reason.

Saw this cute little guy the other day...
