How close is too close?

Nice to see people with objective measures demonstrating the threat a knife can be against a prepared gun owner. Imagine what it is going to be if you're not set to be charged.

I remember doing this same drill when I was younger to demonstrate how fast a knife can cut you. We used an airsoft pistol and a rubber training knife with a water based ink on the cutting edge. I consistently was able to make killing cuts within 20-25 feet against an opponent with a holstered pistol. The range dropped to 16-18 feet with a gun in hand. I might get hit but you will get at least one bad cut no mater the distance.
It was very humbling the fist time it was done to me.
