I ordered a new recoil spring for my Taurus pt 92 and it came with a "little" spring I assume is for the firing pin. How do I change that out? Thanks.

Don't quote me :) but my armorers manual advises against disassembly of the Beretta slide for maintenance/replacement of the firing pin spring, saying that the spring is known to last extremely long (beyond 10k without problems) so replacement should be reserved for when repair is neccessary.......

But that's from memory, I'd have to re-read it. The Taurus is practically the same.

I'd just hold onto that spring and save it for 'if and when' you need it.

IMHO, not bad advice for parts and springs in general. I know it is the fad to buy a brand new pistol, then proceed to change everything in sight on the premise that the factory engineers are idiots and only after market parts makers working in a basement know what they are doing. Do folks know something I don't, or am I just behind the times in not fixing what ain't broke?
