Hi everyone! I just bought a new SP101 2.25" and love it. I've really enjoyed seeing your pictures in other threads of your SP101's.

May I ask you how you keep the front of the cylinder that nice stainless steel color?

The reason I ask is that I also have a stainless 7.5" barrel Ruger Super Redhawk topped with a silver 4x Leupold EER scope. I hunt with it. The front of the cylinder has turned black-ish over time no matter how much I clean it. Nothing seems to be able to get the burnt powder off!!!

I sure would like to keep the front of the cylinder looking brand new if there is a trick.

Thanks!

Get yourself a lead off cloth. It's quick and easy. Just don't use on on a blued gun since it will remove the blueing. Works great on stainless guns.

I did a google search for "lead off cloth" and nothing seems relevant. Would you please let me know where do you find a lead off cloth?

Is this it?

I usually just don't worry about it, but even some Hoppes with a tooth brush or old bore brush can take alot of it off. It might not make it brand new, but it will make it look somewhat better.

You only needed one as they last forever. Even after they have turned totally black they will still work.
