I am a little fanatical about cleaning my guns after returning from an afternoon at the range and keeping them clean and oiled when not in use over time. I don't do anything special other than brush and patch and would like to hear any special tricks from experienced shooters.

May not be the best way.. but

...

I spray entire gun with Eezox lightly, let stand for 5 mins while I take good copper solvent and soak inside of barrel, then scrub barrel with bronze brush, then apply light spray of Eezox on cleaning pad and clean barrel until clean-white, while leaving a fine dry-coat of the Eezox where needed for lubrication.

Then I wipe rest of gun off, (clean-white) and put a dab of oil (if it's needed) on springs, and put a light swipe (with Q-tips) of Tetra Grease on rails and guides.

Done

Then, check guns in morning for any wet spots and wipe dry if any.

I have some rags I spray w/ bullfrog & wipe down the frame & slide. Then I use a brush to wipe it down. The barrel I wipe down as well. The barrel I brush very very well & then push a few patches through until they push through clean....lightly lube, reassemble....done in about 10 minutes.

Depends on what it is.
My High Standard Victor and Trophy just get a once-over on the bolt and chamber face with a brush and a wipe down with a old piece of sweatshirt that has some oil on it. Very rarely do I break them down and run a brush through the bore.
Revolvers I usually run a brush through the chambers and barrel, follow up with a patch soaked in Hoppe's, then a patch with some gun oil, and then wipe them down. Since they don't get used as often as my Bullseye guns, I make sure they're not all gunky when they get put back in the gun safe.
My 1911's usually get cleaned just before a Bullseye match; field strip, clean out all the gunk, make sure the chamber is clean, the barrel reasonably so, re-lube the barrel, etc. per the diagram on the Bullseye forum, and then wipe them down.

Spray everything with Mil Comm MC25 cleaner and let sit for 5 minutes. Then I use a boresnake for the barrel and a toothbrush for the slide and rails. Wipe everything down and apply TW25b grease to everything, and wipe down the outside of the slide with breakfree clp for rust prevention.

Bore Snake at the range before leaving. At home I use Hopps #9, brass bore brush, nylon bore brush, patches & mops. followed by light oiling of the barrel and the gun before storage. Also use Glock Synthetic Gold lube on the metal parts in slide as it comes from the factory.

I use a spray bottle with warm water and teaspoon of seasalt. I then scrub each gun down with 30 grit sandpaper and then I put them back in the safe, My guns r clean.

J/K I take the slide off each semi auto and scrub with a nylon brush and and hoppes number nine, then I bore snake each barrel lube with clp and put back together, good as new.

I sometimes run a patch down the barrell to see how dirty it comes out. But i dont run patches down until it comes out clean, that path leads to madness.

revolvers i scrub with the nylon brush and hoppes nine, and i put a drop of oil or two into the action from the hammer and from the trigger.

for my rifles scrub bolt face with nylon and hoppes nine. bolts i remove the bolt and really scrub all around the extractor and bolt face. bore snakes all around.

+1 on q tips, best gun cleaning device ever.

I also keep some dental pics for thos hard to reach places where a toothpick wont cut it.
