How do you get a steel ramp insert into a 1911?

The feed ramp of my 7 year old alloy-framed 1911 has definitely lost it's smoothness. Feeding isn't an issue yet but I don't see the problem fixing itself anytime soon and I'd really rather not wait until my daily carry gun jams when the chips are down.

The steel inserts are cheap enough but who can recommend a gunsmith who can put it in? What kind of $$$ are we talking for this? Would it just be cheaper to get a new steel frame?

Any help would be rewarded with.......uh..........lands in the New World and matching estates in England.

That's what JB designed the 1911 to shoot. Its all I use in my EDC. The .45 ACP round is a big enough pill to cure any scumbag's disease, FMJ or not.
