How do you lube your rifle brass?

I prefer Hornady Unique as well, its very similar to Imperial sizing wax.

Just keep a little on your fingertips and apply it all over the case.

One shot in a Ziploc bag. The right amount applied and letting them dry does wonders.

Rocco, does this get lube inside the case necks, too? I currently stand all the cases in rows, and spray down at them at a 45 degree angle, to lube inside necks, and get the sides. I like the baggie/Tupperware idea though, it would be faster.

Jeff. as you may guess for the variety of methods you are making it too hard on yourself, a bit of lube on the neck and shoulder does no harm, it's only massive amounts that will then cause lube dents you want to avoid.

I love Lee's lube as well as any but usually use Imperial or Unique because it's less fuss. For rifle cases I use all three the same, touch finger tips to the lube (a small puddle of Lee) and quickly rub over the cases as I pick each one up to size. Quick and easy to do, easy to wipe my fingers clean afterwards.

I run a bore brush through the necks to remove loose carbon before sizing but I DO NOT lube the inside. Lubed necks royally screw up bullet tension in the loaded rounds and it isn't needed anyway.

I lay cases(20-30) down on case lube pad-spray with Dillon case lube-let set a min or 2-roll the cases a time or 2-as pick up with fingers, wipe off excess on neck/shoulder area+size. Good luck with this method==no stuck cases+hardly ever case dent.:what:;)
+1 on the Dillon lube. I use the Zip-Loc bag method. Cleans up easier than One-Shot IMO.

Fatelvis- I assume it does. I used to lube the opening on every 5th case with Imperial. After a while I realized it didn't make a lick of difference... except I had a little less buildup on the expander button.

RCBS pad and lube, for rifle and handgun.

For handgun cases, I lay down four or five rows of cases side by side on the pad, then rock them back and forth a couple times with the palm of my hand. That's an easy 50+ cases lubed at one time.

I brush each rifle case neck, for more consistent tension and release - probably easier on the sizer ball too.

Thanks for all of the responses. I'll keep an eye out for the imperial, it sounds easy to use. The lee works ok but is a little hard to work with the tube. I'll try diluting it with alcohol. Now I just nees some brass to resize!

I use the Dillon stuff that comes in a pump bottle. Lay the cases down in a 24pk flat box and spray, roll against each other and give another shot. I think the lube is mostly Lanolin with Alchohol as a medium to disolve and get it to spray.

Powder graphite on the inside of the necks on target brass then Imperial (Redding) Sizing wax on the outside. Pistol brass (makes press strokes smoother) I load up my case feeder then shoot it with Hornady one shot stir them around a bit and shoot them again. By the time I get my primers loaded and powder in the press it is dry.

WD (Water Dispurser) Better have a case removal tool.

One Shot works

Hornady One Shot, used several cans since it came out. Sprayed never pumped.
Spray inside of dies JUST like it says. Really lube up the first ~3 cases. I use standing tray or roll on foil. *** Now spraying pistol cases and adding one about every 25-50 cases as they fall in the case feeder. Really reduces resize effort.

I have used Lee Resizing Lube and Imperial Sizing Wax for years. Yesterday evening I was going to lube and resize some .223 and .30-06 brass but I was out of both types. Found a tin of KIWI Mink Oil leather treatment. Just got done resizing a 3 lb coffee can of .223 brass and about half a can of .30-06 brass without a single problem.

RCBS Pad and lube, imperial wax, or even small amounts of automotive oil. (mobil 1)
