How do you pay if you e file

If it's a master card or visa card you can use it as a credit card.

Otherwise, nope.

I would imagine a prepaid VISA type card would work as well if you don't want to put your Debit card out there. And after you see how, nice word buggy, the e-forms and pay.gov sites are you might consider this... or getting a CC with fraud protection just for tax stamps.

Anything with a cc number works: credit, debit, prepaid, etc. Just did my first eFile - the site is VERY touchy. They do maintenance several times a day and you get stuck in infinite loops regularly. I am told it reduces processing time by up to 7 mos...we'll see.

I think the people that programmed the Obamacare site threw in the eforms site as a bonus, based on how buggy it is. My card was charged but I'm not 100% sure my application was actually submitted. I didn't get a confirmation email and I can't get back into the system to check the status.

Edit: the email came while I was trying to fight my way back into the system to check. So I feel better, but it still took three hours to complete the process. I think next week they are upgrading the eforms server to a 25mhz 486 with a 160mb HD.

FYI - they've pulled all the forms from eFile except 6 & 6a. Testing to see how that goes and will make Forms 1,4, etc. available again after the test period. It was a cluster so they're retooling.
