How do you wear your belt?

OK, I admit it. I have an hourglass figure. Big across the shoulders, and chest, slight "love handles" and narrow hips. My pants are always trying to go "South", regardless of what I have in the pockets. Thus, I have to really cinch up on my belt, to keep this from happening.
So my solution is usually to wear a belt, accompanied with a pair of suspenders. At present I am wearing Perry Suspenders. They hook onto the belt rather than the pants. I don't see them interfereing with an IWB holster. Am I the only one with this problem? Thanks

I'm also gonna say that doesn't really sound like an hourglass. to have an hourglass figure you must have a narrower waist than slightly upper and slightly lower areas. I think that's how i am and my stuff seems to hold up alright. need to get that Gunner's Alley belt soon though!

side clip suspenders

Sarge: You might want to look at a pair of "side clip" suspenders.

From Duluth Trading Company--DuluthTrading.com I've had good luck with these people on other items and these looked interesting.

I think a previous post saying the hourglass figure was probably more like a cheese wedge, probably is a more accurate description. Hadn't thought of it in that respect.

Jim 157 I was probably one of the first to wear those side clip suspenders, when they first came out. You'll find after you wear them for a while, the metal flat ring down about 4 to 5 inches above the side clip, with pressure, decides to turn on end, bunching up the elastic. I queried Duluth Trading about it, but they were not interested in making any changes. So, I didn't buy anymore. Still have them.
But can you imagine what kind of problems those would cause when drawing from an IWB at the 4:00 o'clock position? Your hand would get tangled up pretty fast.

Are you wearing a gun belt or a cheap belt? I am built like that and did have that problem. My belt and anything on it would go south, especially on the gun side unless I cranked it down to the point of almost cutting off circulation. I got a gunner's alley belt and problem was solved. Cheap belts stretch and sag because they are flimsy.
But no, I don't see any problem wearing suspenders interfering with draw from standard places (3:30-4:30) unless you are plannng on appendix or small-of-back carry.

I too am simillarly plagued. I've tried IWB and SOB holsters for concealed carry with my 1911 but none work for me. IWB hurts like hell, and SOB prints like an Abrahms Tank when I sit down. So I ended up carrying an AMT Backup 45 in a pocket holster for the last couple of years I lived in Tenn. Now that I live in Wisc., it's a moot point until we lose our current CCW-vetoing governor. Once it's passed, I'll prob go back to the AMT, or maybe get rid of my Kahr P45 and get the PM45... the P45 is just a little too tall for easy retrieval from jeans pockets with my hamhand around it.

Try a shoulder holster, if you get the right fit, you will find it the most comfortable, I live in Florida now, but can get away with it most of the year, with a loose fitting shirt or a denim or leather vest, in the evening. I also find the shifting of time, and shape is something we just have to learn to deal with. I also succomed to the dreaded "fanny pak", yes I know they look silly on a grown man, but if you leave your shirt out, again, it works fine. There is little left to do in a warm climate. Every time I see a guy with a fanny pack on, I figure he's got a weapon, the problem with that is everyone else knows it also. When I lived up North, it was never a problem, just throw on a sports jacket, but that's hard to do when it's 80-100 degrees.
