How far off the ground do you need to be in your area? There is a requirement in certain counties of North Carolina which stipulate this for deer hunting. In this area dependent on counties that mandate the requirement 6ft or 8 ft above ground level is the minimum standard.
I no longer involve myself with deer hunting other that granting property access.
I assume (ass-u-me) there must be a standard for minimum tree trunk diameter, height, and load when a stand is employed. We have some hard woods that are tall but small in trunk diameter. When there is the occasional storm/high wind the trees sway to an extent. So far we haven’t had a hunter fall off a stand or a tree and hunter take a tumble.
