I have shot a few LCP's - two are range rentals and 3 of them belong to "Support Group" members. I belong to a group of shooter who share information and guns with other members to help find the best "bang for the buck" for other people. Neet bunch...
Anyway, the consensus of the group is that the LCP is an excellent choice if you can handle the recoil and shoot it enough to become proficient with deploying it and getting accurate rapid follow ups.
The folks that love it are larger, more experienced shooters that can soak up and deal with the rather brisk recoil generated by a teeny, tiny pistol that weighs very little. Most of the group (normal folks - women and generally less experienced shooters wanting CCL guns) find the LCP too brisk and brutal to practice with on a regular basis but find the reliability, price, availability, and concealment to be top end.
