2 for me. A stainless Springer milspec and a Colt 70 series 'Combat Government'. :)

Just my Colt Delta Elite. If I hit the lottery there are a couple custom 1911's I'd like but for the cost of building them I can get a goood chunk of the rest of my wish list.

Too many but not enough

I'll say it before someone else does - I don't have any 1911's(wish I did); I do have 8 1911a1's.

These include:
Colt S70 Gold Cup
Colt S70 9mm(x2)
Springfield 38super comp gun
Brolin Arms L45
Norinco (x2)
Colt 'new' S70

Seems like a lot but I still want to get a commander sized 1911a1 and a stainless S70.

I've got three that I can't even remember where or when I got'em.
I sent them to 'ya. You remember, dontcha? I'll PM you my address so you can return 'em.........................

I only have one... but it is a genuine USGI Colt 1911.

Funny thing, I was at my Dad's house the otehr day and he asked me: Do you have any use for the original barrel?

He'd come across it while cleaning up his room and started to throw it out. This pistol was given to me by him, and he'd had a new barrel put in it when the original became rather worn.

So, now I have the GI barrel... all I need is some genuine 1911 grip panels from the 1914 era and it'll be back to original configuration (original grip safety has been put on since this picture).

there was no option for "0". i don't have one. those 1911's are outdated, dangerous pieces of junk! :neener:

just kidding. there's nothing wrong with them at all. just not my thing. i might pick one up someday when the other priorities on my arsenal list are obtained.

Let's see ....

4 Kimbers
3 Colts
3 Para
1 Springfield
1 Norinco
1 Charles Daly
1 Armscor

Seems I have 14 at hand right now.

Hey everyone, its my first post on The High Road. Nice to be here, anyway I don't own a 1911............. yet. But I do own 2 Browning Hi-Powers, is that close enough ? Just kidding  My next gun purchase is a Springer "loaded" champion model. I have always liked the commander length 1911 guns.

I had one when I started on these forums, and now I have:

1 Norinco (the original one I had)
3 Kimbers (1 in 10mm)
1 Colt NRM
1 SA Mil-Spec

That's 6! :D

Alaskanmonte, welcome! You'll like owning your own 1911. :)

My Charles Daly 5" Blued was the first gun I bought.

Now, I also have a Springfield Loaded 5", Para Ordnance Carry 3" (okay, so it is an LDA model, I still count it) and a Kimber Eclipse Pro II.

I had a Springfield Mil Spec (the version with higher sites and slightly lowered ejection port) for a short time, but decided to trade it with plans to maybe get another later.

I'm guessing in the 11-15 range, but could be more. Currently I do know of having some in 9MM, 38 Super, 9x23 Win, 45 Auto, and 10 MM. Funny how many it takes when you take into account different makes (Colt, etc) ..styles (Govt, Commander,etc)...calibers.....finishes.....etc. Keeps a guy busy and poor.

Wish you had also given the option of zero, so you could see the percentage of M1911 owners versus not.

1 Randal, for the time being.

2 Norincos in working order

1 Norinco in a shoe box undergoing recontructive/cosmetic surgery.

Next one will probably be a Caspian commander size home build, once other things in my life get straightened out

A 1911 is what God shoots, the more you have the closer you are to godliness. Especially when you clean them

Welcome to The High Road Alaskanmonte.

I only have five – Three Colts, a Springfield and a Sistema..

Seven right now

I got my first 1911 about 40 years ago - a parkerized Remington Rand of WW2 vintage. I've always liked them, and have more of them than any other type of handgun. Right now I have 7:

1 Kimber CDP Pro .45
1 ODI Viking Commander .45
5 Colt Gold Cups in .45, 10mm and .38 Super

1911A1?

Photo Guy say:

I'll say it before someone else does - I don't have any 1911's(wish I did); I do have 8 1911a1's.

And:

Seems like a lot but I still want to get a commander sized 1911a1 and a stainless S70.

Wellll...Since we're nit-pickin' on technicalities here...Let us sit down, take off our shoes, and define our terms. A Commander ain't a 1911 OR a 1911A1. Neither is the Gold Cup. Nor any stainless gun or any gun that ain't in .45 ACP caliber. Series 80? Nope...Sorry. Those are all variants of the 1911A1. True-to-design copies are clones. If ya really wanna get picky, so are the contract USGI pistols built under license from Colt. And if ya REALLY wanna
take it to the wall, neither is any commercial Colt. Colt Pistol, Model of 1911...or Colt Pistol, Model of 1911A1 US Army is just that. Colt's commercial version is "Colt's Government Model."

:D

Sorry. It's the meds...
