Ok my son has an assignment for a "CSI" class to do research on a "crime gun."
Having found a 2000 study that listed the Bryco Model 38 as in the top ten recovered crime scene guns in Philly during the 1990's ( and top five for some demographics) and there not being a lot of more recent studies by type available to him on short notice (he did some googling) he went with that handgun. He figured most of his classmates were going to go with the guns they see on fictional crime shows. I really am curious as to how many FN P90s get used in crimes because we see them frequently on the idiot tube adventures.
Anyhow, one of the questions that the teacher had was "how easy are they to get?"
I explained that we live in a no registration state that allows private, no background sales by individuals and so they would be no harder to get than anything else.....and that they could be stolen as well as legally transferred.
Being a smart kid he asked me how common they were and how many had been built.
After a bit and mostly reading about the suit that bankrupted Bryco many times I gave up and told him "Hordes" had been built.
Anyone have an actual number?
I am curious to see how his teacher takes his report which includes a picture of him holding a Bryco 38 and multiple photos of the one in my collection. showing its features.
