How many carry different ccw depending on what your wearing

I like fullsize 1911s and I agree having a couple different holsters can let you figure out what would be most comfortable for the day's activities.

I dress around the gun and my wardrobe looks like it.

Preferred carry is full size 1911
Second choice is CCO 1911
Last choice is Kahr PM9 - dress carry or pocket carry

Same here. :)

I almost always carry a gov't model. Next most likely is a lightweight Commander then the PM9 for when it's tough to effectively conceal a real gun. ;)

really only two now, but sometimes three.
usually a commander, I was carrying a P13 para and would but I was getting tired of the wieght, and so switched back to the commander. This either rides in a galco FED paddle, or a Bianchi black widow, Actually both guns ride nicely in the same holsters.

IF i am required by She who must be obeyed to go someplace that requires dress up beyond a sport coat, i will usually wear a Galco miami classic with a 6.45 in the holster, this hides well under a Tux or suit coat, and without a belt, it allows me to keep my pants from turning inside out. (both tux and suit are worn with suspenders.)

Yep. I have "summer guns" and "winter guns."

The summer guns are smaller and rust-resistant, owing to carry under minimal clothing. These include an NP3'ed P7, Sig P245 and Kimber CDP Compact.

Winter guns are the larger "service" pistols: CZ75, Sig P228 and S&W Commander. With these, I usually have a garment between my body and the gun, and I'm wearing heavier clothing, so concealment is easier.

I pretty much carry a 3"65-3 year round along
with a 642-2 as a back up.I do have a 640-1
that i carry during the week to and from my
job.I use a fobus holster because it's easy to
take off and secure while i'am at work.

Versatility in Planning

Like others, I dress 'around' my sidearm. Depending on the weather, the circumstance of where and how I'll be spending time, I have to make some choices about clothing, holster opens and sidearm options.

Usually this takes no longer than deciding which socks or shirt to wear. But it's just a normal part of getting dressed everyday.

Those of you who use a CCW as a fashion statement or accessory are setting yourselves up for failure. When you need to use your carry gun, is not the time to try and remember where you're carrying it or which one you have with you. Lets see, I've remembered where it is, but where is the safety (if any) and which way does it work. You need one pistol, one carry 24/365. How many of you actually practice with your carry rigs? I mean going to the range, drawing your CCW from it's normal carry position and firing it? Further have you ever talked with your husband/wife/companion/significant other about what to do in life threating situations. How about a code word or phrase that alerts them you are about to take action? I've talked with too many people who get their license and feel that since they have a gun they automatically will be able to survive a potentially lethat encounter. The truth of the matter is "people don't rise to the occasion, they revert to their training". BTW I carry a Glock 19, 5lb trigger, night sights, otherwise totally stock, in an IWB holster on my strong side, summer or winter, t-shirts or coats. Just my humble opinion.

Folks are used to seeing me with my shirt out. I've worn it that way daily for more than 7 years. The only difference I make when carrying is whether the gun is stong side in a pancake style belt holster or strong side in an inside the pants holster. I want the gun in the same place all the time so that I don't have to remember "where is it today?" I just dress around the gun.

I have 3 guns that are in regular service for carry.

G26 in a Galco Ankle Glove when at work. I wear a shirt and tie, no coat. I do have a CTAC, but since I have to enter/exit my daughters day care in the morning, its toooooo hard to tuck/untuck/tuck. Ankle glove makes it simple.

G23 in a Galco Pancake holster or my CTAC, depending on the attire.

New to my rotation is my 642 snubby. It will get some serious action in the carry rotation very soon. For now its riding in a Desantis Nemesis while I wait for my Galco Horsehide pocket holster to arrive.

FYI, I practice atleast 3 times a week with my carry rigs one XD .45 acp and one XD 9mm, im lucky enough to have a job were I can afford the ammo and off enough I can go to the range, so I am equally good with both and further more my wife and I do have a code word and even a signal. Not to mention back up plans and my wife carries her own ccw, and I have also competed in IPSC for abour three years, unforunaltey I cannot carry the same rig all the time a XD .45 acp with a 13 round mag is hard to conceal. Just because people are not carrying the same way you are doesn't make it wrong.

Sig P239 9mm either IWB when I am wearing light clothing or OWB if I have a jacket or overshirt to cover or feel like going open carry.
XD9 Tac in OWB when I am carrying open or else wearing clothing to cover.
Glock 21 OWB when I am wearing my leather duster. It's the only thing that comes close to covering that polymer brick on my belt.

Once upon a time I mexican carried my Ruger SRH small of back just for S's & G's. Ouch.

I rotate -

Primary Carry is usually G23, P239, 908s, or a P9 (and all are carried in a Galco Yaqui)

Backup role is left to the P-3AT... Waiting for the PF-9 to alernate in this position...

Just added the S&W 637 to the rotation... not sure just yet in what position, But I really am liking it a LOT!!!

My off duty carry choices are not regulated by my employer. As a result I carry what I want how I want. I do often swap out depending on clotes or situation.

My Kahr PM9 is my always gun and in my pocket constantly as a primary. I will sometimes put my duty gun duplicate Beretta Centurion in a IWB or OWB when I feel the need for more than my Kahr can provide. A GLOCK 26 will sometimes find itself in a pocket alone or in conjunction with the Kahr. Same with a GLOCK 17 or 19 in lieu of the Beretta 92D.

I like my guns and rotate them to keep current. I compete with them regularly and am comfortable with my ability with each.

I will say however the Kahr is the #1 gun and the Beretta 92D Centurion is the main squeeze when bigger is better.

Every now and then I might pack the old M1911A1 however! :D

Glock 19 for cold weather clothes.

Kahr P9 covert for warm weather clothes, or clothes in which I need to conceal better, like formal wear.

I carry a Pro Carry year round for the most part. Sometimes I'll have a BUG as well, weak side in a pocket. I got slack for a while and just carried the pocket gun, but I've forced myself back into the habit of carrying the .45 because I'd rather have it than a .380 if something bad happens.

I carry a Kimber TLE in the summertime, IWB in a Brommeland max-con 5. Its thin, and I can conceal it with nothing but a Tshirt (as long as its not a white Tshirt) and cargo shorts. Chances are, I'll also be carrying a spare mag and kel-tec .380 in addition to the other standard stuff like wallet, cell phone, surefire, keys.
In the wintertime, I'll switch to a Browning hi-power. The doublestack, for me, requires heavier clothing to accomodate, and i prefer to have a higher capacity. I prefer to use an Alessi bodyguard (shoulder holster) but will also use a high noon OWB, in the same place i'd have my Kimber if it was summer.

Yes, i practice with both. Yes, I practice drawing from concealment. Yes, I'm okay with that.

I have several different weapons to choose from depending on what I'm wearing and the weather. I have found the need to have a NY reload.

My normal carry piece is my old Charter Arms 2-inch Undercover .38 Special loaded with 158grn. LSWCHP +Ps, usually Remington brand, in a UM Super Belt Slide on a Bianchi 1 3/4 in. Garrison belt (3 o'clock, strong side) with a Speed-Strip in the pocket.

However, in the real hot weather or when wearing just sweats, I will use a belly-band type rig. I'm also looking into Smart-Carry or Thunderwear as soon as the cash pool is filled up a bit.

Generally I don't believe in variation in CCW's or their carry. I figure if I need it I do not want to think about where it is or how does it operate. This is a personal issue though and just my preference.

I don't wear the sissy clothes so that doesn't alter my carry but I do vary depending on where I am going. For instance on long trips where I won't know the bad areas or traversing big cities I formerly lived in I will pack more firepower. Backup gun, longer barrels, extra loads... That sorta thing.

Not me. Dress around my gun. I have one pocket pistol. If I have to, Have To, HAVE TO, tuck my shirt tail & can't wear vest or jacket then I have a KT 3AT for back pocket. That is rare & only in the heat of the summer.
