Can't seem to get a straight answer. I would own them all if I had unlimited funds. Everyone I ask says you can purchase however many you want, then I hear 1 every 30 days. I know it may vary state to state but is there a limit on how many can be purchased in a month/year?

federally......no
Locally.........depends on the state.

in some states, you can buy guns until you run out of money........other states have a 1 gun a month(NJ i believe).

personally.....if you have room in the safe....and money in the bank......you dont have enough yet.

Sounds like this should be in Legal. (Moved)

As M-C said, federally, knock yerself out.

In almost all of the states the same rule applies. In a few states there are 1-gun-a-month rules. No state or locality I've ever heard of (in the US) puts any limit on the total number you can own.

As many as you are proficient with.
Fortunately there is also no where I know of that requires you to prove proficiency to own a gun.

I'd probably have to give up a few, depending on who's making up the proficiency test.

^ agreed, proficiencey doesn't factor in at all. I buy some just because I like how they look, or for historic reasons. I really don't care to shoot some of them at all. I'm sure I couldn't pass a proficiency test with a lightweight 44 mag whell gun.

Senator Feinstein chimed in on this a couple of years ago. She said one (1) was too many. Does this help?

If you have to sell your house to buy a bigger one because you don't have enough room to store all your guns...

That seems like a problem of not enough house rather than too many guns. "Too many guns" is like "too much money" or "too good-looking"--a contradiction in terms.

Let us know what state you're in and we can answer from a state legality point of view. From a principle point of view, the answer is all the guns that exist in the world +1.

My own ethic is no more than I have the time and money to train with and ensure proficiency. However, this is not something I would ever seek to impose on anyone else. and once I have mine, I need to start outfitting my sons with their basic choices.

And as far as legally allowed? No restrictions here. My hometown actually has a law on record that every household must have a firearm.

I do not yet have enough guns to grasp the concept of "too many guns". My research continues. :scrutiny:
If I didn't spend my money on guns, ammo, and beer I would just waste it. :D

I have rights because I exist, not because my government exists.

U.S. Supreme Court Justice Joseph Story wrote

My wife has not issued a cease and desist order on me yet so I can't answer.

As others have said though, no federal laws on numbers.
