How many keyboards can .44 mag shoot through?

Yeah, I know it's not particularly scientific. This is really just for fun. If we really insist on gun nerding, though, I have done a few other "tests" like this and since this is a very consistent medium, it should give us a good baseline to compare the relative abilities of various cartridges to penetrate hard obstacles. It can't tell us how many walls or car doors a given cartridge can get through, but it can tell us whether it can get through more or less than another cartridge.

I guessed wrong again. But hey, not a lot of experience shooting keyboards.

Suggestion; you may want to replace the steel rods on your chrono with wooden ones. Might save your chrono if you shoot the rod. Wooden ones will break easier and may save chrono housing.

I haven't shot keyboards but I did stack up some 3.5" hard drives. That was 10 years ago.

As I recall, low recoil buckshot didn't even penetrate the first hard drive, instead creating about a 1" diameter dent in the outer casing and bending the drive. 9mm and .45 penetrated 1-3 drives. High brass slugs went through 4 or 5. .223 went through 7+, and 7.62x54R went through as many as I could line up, 12+. This is going through perpendicular to the platters.

I didn't try .44mag, and keyboards vary wildly in construction but I would guess 10+ cheap keyboards.

I finally got it right!

This is the first caliber you've shot that I actually shoot also. All those high velocity rounds and SMG pistol rounds and so forth I've never had a chance to shoot, and I've also never gotten it right.

Maybe I'm not so bad at this after all...
