Heres my problem, I have a well broken in Sig 226 and I only have 10rnd mags, I want to get "standard capacity mags" , but I dont have the time or a good place to go shooting till the spring.

My question is would you trust Sig Factory mags that you have never shot before, to carry in your gun? thanks

NO.

I run 200 rds of a load before I carry said load for serious applications. This includes a minimum of 100 rds in EACH mag; I prefer 200 rd test in EACH mag. Includes re-checking with loads if mag springs , followers and such are replaced in mags at some time.

Not gun mfg specific, Sig makes a good product , Mr. Murphy and Gun Gremlins are Equal Opportunity tho'. :)

For instance I have run 1k rds in one day through a Colt , Kimber 1911 - 5 mags tested. I also ran 800 rds in one day thru a Keltec P-11 - 4 mags tested.

Then again I run this test with revolvers, and shotguns too...

I want to know the TOTAL reliability of ammo, feed, extract, mags, cylinders, mag tubes, springs...Murphy and Gremlins "might" get me - gonna make 'em work for it tho'. ;)

No matter how much you test Mr. Murphy might be the next round. In fact all that testing just might be moving Mr. Murphy closer to his turn.
