How Many Rounds

I usually take at least 2 guns.

In the 9mm I generally shoot 100 rds. If I take the 380 I shoot another 50 rds.

If I take the 22 I shoot until everyone who goes with me runs out of ammo and then I sometimes let them shoot my 22.

It depends. If I'm developing a new load I may just shoot 20-30 rounds. If we're shooting trap or handguns as a family I usually take about 500 rounds, and rifle practice is usually about 50-100.

I like it., had no problems with the 100rds of wwb. It shoots a little right(consistently) and I didnot have anything to tap the rear sight. This will be corrected on the next trip.

I would recommend that you fire at least 200-300 more rounds before making adjustments. let the gun wear in. Mine changed a bit as it wore in. Also, try shooting from a bench rest a few times before adjusting the sights too. If it still shoots left then adjust them.

I agree with what 23Glock said.

My "number" is 150-200 rounds depending on how I go in to the range session.

After you tire and begin to get "sloppy" there is no point in wasting ammo to reinforce bad habits.

Depends upon what type of range work I am doing

Depends upon what type of range work I am doing. Scope work, just shooting for fun, pistiol work, testing something new ETC,,,

It depends on a lot of factors. Right now, if I am shooting 45acp I generally shoot 200-400 rounds per session.
If I am shooting 22lr in a semi auto rifle, then I am shooting steel plates so I usually eat up a 500-round brick.
If I am shooting 45-70, then I am doing serious offhand work on steel plates and will usually shoot 50-100 rounds.
If I am shooting 38 special, 100-500 rounds in a day, just depends on what I am shooting at and what other guns I brought that day.
10mm, no more than 100 rounds in a session. I just don't like shooting it that much.
44 special -- 50-200 rounds.
44 magnum 20-100 rounds in a session, just depends on what else I brought and How long I stayed at the range.
357 magnum -- 100-200 rounds, depends on the level of the loads and how long I shoot and what else I brought.
380acp -- 50-100 rounds.
9mm 50-200 rounds.
You get the idea!

Usually 100 minimum between 1 or 2 guns that I decide to bring with me. Like someone else already said, it usually doubles or triples when I bring friends or family along and let them shoot my guns. Of course, I take them to Walmart first and suggest that they pay for their own ammo:) I can barely afford to shoot 100 rounds for myself!

I haven't been able to shoot much lately, so when I did Monday, I made it worth the trip. A combination of SD drills, precision rifle in multiple positions, plinking, hand-thrown clays, ballistics testing, cleaning up, and brass retrieval.

100 rounds of .223
150 rounds of 9mm
150 rounds of .45ACP
200 rounds of .22LR
100 rounds of assorted rifle
50 rounds of .38 Spl.
50 rounds of 12 Gauge

I guess that's what happens when you only get to shoot once a month or less. :barf:

My range is a National Forest, so I can shoot whatever I want with whatever I want. No time wasted waiting on other people most of the time. Nevertheless, I was there for almost six hours the other day, so a few people stopped by in that time.

Thanks for the input all. Frank Drebin, I agree. After analyzing the target I realized that I was prob pulling to the right. All hits on the sillohuette were right of center. My lefty son shot 3 mags thru it and his were mostly left of center. I am not adjusting anything on it yet. Thanks.

Just got back from the Range...about 20 yards outside my front door :neener:

Shot about 300 rounds of 10mm and 200 rounds of 45acp. Ran out, but wanted to shoot some more, so I had to run home (well...walked home) and got another couple of boxes. When my kids get home from school, I'll send em out to pick up all the brass. Life don't get any better than that :D

I do not shoot as many as I used to with the price going up on ammo.
down from 200 - 300 Now about 100
