Having just placed an order for about $300.00 worth of ammo, I got to wondering...
How much in dollars do you tend to buy at a time?

Last ammo order

My last ammo order was 10,000 rounds of center fire rifle ammo

I normally order a couple of cases at a time.

I just ordered 2200 cast bullets for for about $140. That's nothing to some people here and $140 isn't a lot to spend on ammo, but it'll keep me shooting for a while. It's about as "in bulk" as I do for now.

The last three bulk purchases I made were for $232 worth of .45 and 9mm Winchester Ranger T's, $380 worth of WWB 9mm, and $160 worth of .45 and .22lr. So far I've shot 50 rounds of Ranger T in each .45 and 9mm to test fire my carry guns, 600 9mm WWB, and 1500 rounds of .22lr. I bought a CZ 75 Compact and Kadet kit so my wife and 3 teenagers could practice and I haven't been to the range alone since. Mike

My reloading component purchases generally run from $750-$1250 per order.

loaded ammo purchases are normally around $175-$300.

Needless to say, I buy in bulk and do not buy often!:p

I usually get

Two or three or four boxes of each cal that I shoot, depending on the sale price, locally every Saturday, but my last purchase was $700 for 1000 rounds or Factory 6.5 Grendel (123 lapua Senecar's). I know that $700 for 1000 rounds sounds like a lot but it is Lapua brass, and that 1000 rounds will enable me to shoot and then reload for years. And considering that AA, Midway, etc sell a 200 round case for $199-$220, I think that It was a good deal... Hell, new Lapua 6.5 Grendel brass sells for almost what I paid for new loaded rounds.

I usually buy in bulk, 1,000 rounds here or there, mainly surplus. I slowly accumulate the good stuff, box of Sellier and Bellot here, box of federal hunting cartridges there. Those rounds only get fired roughly one box per year, 10 to sight in, 10 for hunting

This is what I have purchased in the last 90 days for three new guns:

FN 5.7 has 3k of 5.7x28mm that I bought in chunks of 1000, very expensive.

FN FS2000 has 4k of Winchester .223 from tsgunsandammo.com.

DSA SA58 FAL has 3k .308 brass and 6000 components to support reloading efforts, with another 2k in brass ordered.

Be safe, BSR

Wife, kid, dog, mortgage...

I'm limited to about $150 per purchase. (I bought all my firearms back when it was; working wife, no kid, no dog, no mortgage.)

I used to buy a lot more ammo than I do now.

However, I have been shooting a lot more .22LR after my silencer came in (makes it that much more fun), and so I buy a few bricks here and there. I have about 10k rounds of .22LR lying around that I need to burn through and restock.

I'm looking at getting .22LR conversions for my upcoming pistol (selling a bunch of stuff, looking at buying a Glock 19, as I sold mine several months ago to get an XD-45) and for my Bushmaster AR, as .22LR is just plain fun.

Sadly, centerfire ammo is far too expensive, I'm just an college student without much money, and I've had to cut back on how much I shoot.

I tend to buy in case quanitites when I need to get more. My normal supplier also gives me a discount when I cross the $750 or so range... ;-)

I usually buy about $200 worth of ammo per order. This usually consists of a case or two of 7.62x54r, some 7.62x39, some .38sp (I don't think i'll be buying cci blazer anymore) and as much .40 S&W as I can get!
