Our last Semi Auto panic-- I over payed $250 for a RR lower.

Ammunition Panic- I refused to buy any that was marked up from normal, but I have lost a lot of time wasted checking stores for silly .22s.

Magazine panic- Paid $30 for a $13 PMag.

My big loss- Not selling a Scar 17 FDE at a $2500 profit. With my luck I would have sold it and FN would stop selling SCARs to the civilian market.

nothing. I think most have what they need. buy if you want or wish.

I just quit shooting as I couldn't replace the ammo. I had all the stuff I needed so I didn't have to join the frenzy and pay $2000 for a $600 AR or $50 for a PMag. It's wise to remember that we're only a "crisis" away from another shortage. I sold (actually traded) one AR at a mild profit to someone that HAD to have it and picked up a nice Springer Loaded for some spare 5.56 ammo I had onhand...

I bought one pmag for $30 because i wanted to finish out a look. But i did have a couple of guns that were not for sale that others just had to have that i finally let go for a 3k profit. Since everything died down im upgrading what i have and the old lesser quality stuff will be sold off when the prices soar again.

"Lose" is relative. I stocked up a number of magazines that I would not necessarily otherwise purchased. But the prices I paid were not inflated at all - some were even cheaper than "normally". So I spend some money I probably wouldn't have otherwise, but I didn't over pay per item.

The actual high prices of the panic didn't cost me anything, I actually made a bit on an ar and have sold of some 22 ammo for a pretty good profit. The big thing that has cost me is now that the AR panic is over and prices are very good, I caught BRD and built 6 ARs this summer.

I paid too much for some .22 ammo but that's probably the new normal for a while anyway so I can't really count that as a loss. I had enough .22 ammo to last me quite a while when the panic hit (just ordered a bunch like 3 days before Sandy Hook) so I didn't buy a lot at inflated prices. I guess I mostly lost shooting time because I didn't want to shoot what I couldn't replace. I probably have more ammo now than I did before the panic because I bought ammo when I could and only shot some once in a while. I could have made out like a bandit if I had wanted to act like a bandit and sell my stuff for inflated prices I guess. But I don't like to do things that way. There's nothing wrong with an honest profit for paying attention and watching the way the market is going for stuff but when a person starts charging 10 times what they paid for something that's too much. Some people did way too much of that going to Walmart and buying up all that came in on a shipment and selling it on the net for way more than they paid for it. That stinks IMO.

Actually, I made out. I sold an AR, ammo, and mags for enough to buy a Benelli M2 Tactical and have enough left over to put aside. I recently took that "put aside" and replaced the original AR, ammo, and mags.

As for the rest, I had more than enough "stuff" in the closet to carry me thru without buying at banic prices.....

I bought some overpriced mags that are now banned... Double loss.

Not dime on guns or ammo. I refuse to overpay for items due to panic conditions.

I've quit shooting .22's until ammo becomes available and reasonable.

Quite a bit economically overall due to communists and liberals running the show. High food and energy prices and stagnant job conditions.

It would be interesting to see how much some people made.

Someone who was properly stocked beforehand, and in a position where he was willing to unload some property, could have easily made tens of thousands of dollars.

Other than over paying on 22LR, nothing I can think of. Made a good profit on selling a Ruger .44 Magnum single action that an east Texan wanted for a hog gun. Those hogs seem to be eating up half of The Lone Star state! :D

I bought some GI issue mags for $12 and sold them to a vendor at a gun show for $20. He promptly sold them for $26

I hope guys learn to start stocking up. I now have 40# of powder, over 14k of primers, and about 4k of .22's. I didn't pay inflated prices for any of it. You don't wait until the ship is sinking to buy a life vest

There is some .22 around. You just gotta get signed up for the alerts from the online retailers. My S-I-L got 1k of Winchester Match for $30/500 shipped a few weeks ago by doing that

I actually found a couple great deals on handguns. I was looking for M&P 9mm mags. Found a whole gun with 6 mags for a good price.

Refused to pay ridiculous prices for anything.

The panic cost me nothing. I stocked up ahead a time. It did not take a rocket scientist to know the Democrats would keep the White House.

i did help out a few folks who needed some things that were in short supply.

Also, I had no intentions to sell anything because the Democrats had kept the White House.

Didn't lose a thing. Picked up some new toys for less than what they are selling for today.

As they say "location, location, location" or "timing, timing, timing."

Jim

Nothing. I made money. I supplied some rimfire shooters with ammo priced cheaper than other sources, but still made a little money.

Come in and post about how you sold ARs and .22 ammo for exorbitant profit. Yup, that makes sense.

I had stocked up plenty of ammo beforehand and just shot very sparingly through out . I only bought rimfire bolt action guns, so no loss here.
Of course I didn't sell anything as I detest taking advantage of others in bad times. My conscience is clear. :D

My conscience is clear. I didn't hold a gun to anyone's head and take their money....I said I made a little money...about 10%.
