Looking at the kahr p9 or p9 covert. I will probably be ordering in the next two weeks. I can comfortably pocket carry a Bersa .380. I will be either pocket carring or iwb. The weight is about the same but the grips a little different feeling due to the shorter frame. However no ranges within 100 miles rent any Kahr's. I can't try before I buy. I did own a mk9 (regretfully I sold it) the grip was ok, but the weight was a bit much for pocket carry. So now I'm ready to buy another I decided to go with the p series for weight issues. I just can't tell how much difference that 1/2 inch will make in a ccw. Right now I'm leaning towards the p9 covert with nites. What do you guys say? Is it the one?

Hard to say, man. Yeah, it's a decent gun... but once you get it in your hands, you may love it or hate it.

Rule one of gun buying:
Always examine the gun before buying it. (Or at least the same make and model if you can't look at the specific one)

Barrel length means very little in a carry gun, but in general the shorter the barrel the easier a gun is to handle. A half inch plus or minus on the butt makes a lot of difference for concealment.

Agree with George's Rule. Always try before you buy.

1/2"here , a few ozs. there, difference in materials can make a bunch of difference. Case in point, guy shoots a K frame, fits him well and he shoots it well, he buys the exact same gun and hates it...until grips changed to what fit him before. He knew what grips to get because he had tried before buying.

Jim makes good points, in 1911 style commander and full size conceal the same for me despite bbl being shorter, grip is same. I CCW a full size 1911 style.

The covert has the same length grip as the mk you sold, so if ya liked that then get the covert. Mag extensions make it grip like the full size, but if you're gonna do that might as well go full size IMO......tom

IWB, 1/2" makes little or no difference. In the pocket, 1/2" might make a difference... Only way to know is to try one. That extra 10 oz is what makes the most difference ;)
