From what I've been hearing, mil-surp rifles have been bought up recently in large numbers, and the prices have been raised across the board.

How much is the going rate for a Mosin Nagant 91/30 now?

Aim had some for $90 they are sold out, Classic Firearms has some in stock for $160 and J&G has some in stock for $230.

When I see them in stock they are about $20-$30 higher than pre panic. However for those of you that pay attention to Mosins, we have been told for about 10-12 months that this run of imports is drying up, and the next wave will have about a $20-$30 price increase per unit. Keep calm and carry on.

ETA: the $230 from jgsales.com is for an M44 nothing new there.

Is every mil-surp going to go up in price?
Yes. It is called the law of supply and demand. Demand for firearms of all kinds is up, and the supply of milsurps is finite, so prices will go up. From time to time, they may drop a little, if a new batch arrives from somewhere, but the long term trend has to be upward.

That trend has been occurring for a while now. Those who don't follow Mosins have for a while believed they were $70 rifles long after they were fetching higher than $100. Now they are higher than $150 which seems like a doubling of price but really, they've been going up at a steady pace for some time (though the $30-$60 jump is attributable to the increased demand - it turns out preppers have discovered the Mosin as a simple, strong, easily storable-design).
