Every time I read posts on range reports, a lot of times people state it was the first time they've been out shooting in months. It makes me wonder if I shoot to often.

For awhile I used to go to the range once a week. But now I'm down to about 2-3 times a month.

So to those who actually have to leave their home/property to go to a range for shooting recreation, how often do you go to the range?

I don't get out near as much as I would like. I haven't joined any local rifle clubs aournd here. When do make the drive to visit my folks three hundred miles away I spend as much time as possible at the range. I need to find a place to shoot around here.

I try to make it every week at least once. I enjoy going right after work during the week. No one is usually there and I have the range pretty much to myself. Sometimes I go Sunday morning, but it's tough to get a lane at times as everyone wants to get out now that it's getting warm.

Well my local brew pub closed down, and at the same time I aquired a new shooting buddy. Range time is free at the indoor placed on Tuesday and Wednesday for members to boot. Then I got another shooting buddy. Tuesdays with guy B and Wednesday with guy A.

So, instead of a post-work beer with the comrades I just go shooting now at least twice a week right there.

Saturday and Sunday only cost me $2.50 for the outdoor range 30 minutes away, and they give you targets too... so it's not really costing me much. It's a nice drive out to the country too. Made it Saturday and Sunday last week. Yep, four times in 7 days.

Bank account's starting to notice this though... so I bought a .22LR pistol today. Makes sense to me.

On top of that I've got two lovely women already asking for another range trip... so I'll have to go out at least once this weekend too.

I try and make sure at least one day is "me time" though -- nobody else to worry about or to chat with. Just me and a rifle usually works best.

I believe I have found the secret to zen and inner calmness now. :D

It's the complete opposite over here in SoCal. Last Sunday it was pretty dead on the firing line. I don't think it got higher than 50% capacity. It was about 96-100 degrees and I guess people didn't want to brave the heat.

I don't know what they're going to do for the next five months. It's not like it's going to get any cooler over here in California. So unless shooters plan on 'hibernating' indoors with A/C all Summer, they'll have to come out sometime to enjoy shooting or just shoot handguns at an indoor range all summer. I prefer the outdoor range myself so I'll be packing the Camelbak from now on until temps get down to the 80s and below come October/November.

Every Wed. and Sat. and sometimes also Sun.

Wed. is rifle, Sat. is handgun, and Sun. is a toss up.

I wish I could go at least once a week, but my Dad won't take me that often. We usually go once every two weeks to an indoor range. (We don't know many outdoor ranges near here. We're happy indoors, with the A/C!)

At least once a week. now...

When I first started shooting I went 3 times in the weekend! Then 4 times in the following week. The next week I noticed my new hobby almost put me into poverty so I slowed it down a bit.

Now, I limit myself to once a week, but I got a Marvel .22 upper so I can shoot more. And... its still quite fun to shoot! :)

Including matches up to five times a week. Most of the time is more like two to four times a week. I get off work in one minute. Guess where I'm going?

So far it's about once a month, but I want it to be more often. I keep telling myself I'm going to start going into work early one day a week so I can leave early and shoot, but so far it hasn't happened.

My roommate is showing an interest in starting to shoot, though, and if he does I imagine that will lead to more range time.

I built a 7-50 yard range just out my back door. Now I can do most of my shooting at home:D
I still go to the local range for long range stuff 1-2 times a month.
Now I'm working on making moving targets for 10-25 yard shooting.

I go at the very least, twice a month.
It's been more like three times a month lately.
If I had My own land...oh boy...:D

Before my wife got pregnant-once or twice a month.

While she was pregnant-only twice in 9 months (she shoots too, and gets annoyed if I go without her.)

Since the baby got here (three months ago)-twice, both times while my parents were visiting and could babysit. My folks are coming again next month. Guess where the wife and I will be going at least one day?

Before the fight for concealed carry began here in earnest, I was going once, twice, sometimes five times a week. Once the legislature came in last September, shooting went on the back burner. Now that the bill has failed, I'm working seven days a week.

So, you could say I go shooting every couple of months. :(

i've gone more in the last 3 months than i have in the prior 6 months!

and boy oh boy do i need to start reloading. this month alone i've spent more than $350 on ammo. i've been picking up .45 brass since last year, and thought i had maybe 500 pieces. turns out i have nearly 2000! bringing home 50-200 pieces a range trip sure adds up.

i could easily spend all day plinking with .22lr, but i try and do equal time with my mark 2 and kimber.

I think I've only been once in the past year, and it was only a few rounds :(

That's going to change in a few days though :D

I'm very lucky, my range is only a few hundred yards from where I work, so I can just generally look outside, and say "Nice day, I'm going shooting for my lunch break". So it works out mostly to me more than once a week. Sometimes it's 4-5 times a week, sometimes once. Sometimes I'll even go more than once in a day- get to work early, shoot for a half hour, go back to work, if it's a slow afternoon, go shoot some more. :D

I go once every week, basically twice a month. this is due to the chaos I call my 6.5 day week of school/work and family stuff. This summer Id like to go every week, and Im planning on joining the range to cut down on range fees.

once a month sometimes twice a month, I burn up too much ammo if I go more than that...I shoot the cheapest ammo like 9mm or 7.62x39 Russian
