Back in yon days of yore, when I lived in the big city, Overland Park, KS, Iwould go out to the Mill Creek Rifle Club like twice a month. I loved to shoot my old WWI Pattern 14 and my Garand on the 300 yd range. Iron sights.
Since I moved down here onto 90 acres in the Ozarks, I built my own pistol range, complete with trap (I cast my own bullets). Sometimes as few as 6 rounds a day, other days with my wife or a friend I may go through 100 rounds. (I figure with casting, reloading and recycling, I can reload a .38 or .45 for less than a nickel a round)
I can shoot my rifles off the deck, 400 yds into a berm. Trouble is my spotting scope isn't that good. It's a LONG walk to look at the target. Hey, a feller needs a little exercise.
Further, any day is a good day to whack squirrels off the bird feeder.
Down here in the woods, gun fire is as common as a car driving by up on the road.
Work hard and someday, you all can be as lucky as me.
