How Old is your Oldest Revolver?

As far as I know, it is still wearing its original nickel finish.

The finish is almost blemish free on most of the gun, the cylinder shows some loss.

Particularly on the front face of the cylinder, there is no finish remaining and the surface is pitted.

Thanks for the explanation. If only I were aging that well. lol
 
From what I have been told, this gun is 100-120 years old, and it used to be a cop's "duty gun". The top strap is grooved for a rear sight and visible on this side of the barrel, all it says is "Colt D. A. .38". The cylinder no longer locks when the gun is cocked so it isn't safe to fire. I did before I knew this but the gun is now "retired".
