Gsg-522/5
When I got my GSG-522 I loved it, except for a few issues...like the goofy U-notch rear sight and the open front sight, and the skinny selector...oh, and the fact that it would "double" or "triple" randomly....and that amazingly skinny barrel with little "meat" to resist chamber pressure.
But it shot GREAT! No FTF or FTE with ANY ammo fed to it, and the magazines are not only reliable, but constructed of materials that will hold up well under any conditions.
So....after I figured out the hammer strut needed to be modified so the hammer ended up in contact with the bolt, and the sear housing spring needed to be stonger, combined with a recut sear/hammer engagement, the GSG became a "100%" rifle.
Now I have zero worries about early opening causing a chamber blowout, or cracked bolt housing, or those not-so-infrquent doubles and triples.
Oh, and I replaced the reas sight with one from
www.rrages.com - a REAL HK sight, and I did the -522 to -5 mod to put back the ring front sight and large, paddle selector, and the "crescent" cocking handle....
NOW my GSG is as close to perfect as possible.
