You got that backwards, mate. The overdub is in French; that was originally an American's stunt.
The story I recall hearing about this one is that he did it on a dare with a friend. He put the buck lure on himself, instead of a nearby object, and it angered the deer: the buck thought it was a territorial challenge. The hunter is damn lucky he didn't get skewered on those antlers!
It'd have been a good idea to bring a sizeable knife with him, on his belt/accessible. He could've probably gotten a couple good stabs in around the heart/lungs area anyway!
That was hilarious, other posts are correct however it is a stunt by an American. Wonder what "product" he used. If it got the buck that ornery I would like to have some about 75 yards off my stand next season.
