This is a really open ended question since there are so many configurations to mount a scope. As for bases, there are traditional one piece, two piece, weaver style, etc. As for rings there are all sorts of traditional, quick release, tactical style, etc. To give some more useful information, since this is a hunting rifle, I would suggest relatively simple setup - Leupold two piece traditional bases and (probably) medium height rings. Please don't skimp on bases and rings - it's an unfortunate circumstance when you buy an accurate gun, a quality scope, and it loses zero. Some blame the gun, scope, ammo, etc. when it was really the mount that bent.

The Leupold lightweight scope you linked to has a 33 mm front objective, and is fairly short. You will do well with low rings, but you may need one or two extended rings to get the right eye relief without hitting the bells or center of the scope. You might want to wait for the scope and mock it up and order the right rings, or If you get a Weaver or Picatinny one piece base, You usually wont need the extended rings as long as the base has multiple slots for different ring positions.

Its a personal preference. For hunting I use DNZ One Pieces, Muzzleloader I use Leupold Steel rings and bases, and for Long range target I use EGW bases (picatiny) and Leopold quick releases. 308 doesnt recoil much, but I would steer clear of aluminum bases, I have seen several sets start to sheer from 30-06 recoil.

for that scope you will want low rings, extra low if your maker has them.

bases, however, are another story. savages have very wide spacing on their receivers. you're probably going to be best off waiting until you have the scope and rifle in hand, then take it to a shop that has a wide variety of bases and rings available.

my bet is you're going to end up with at least one extension ring or base.
