Often when a company's assets are bought, the new owner won't honor the old company's warranty claims, this may apply to Marlin and Remington owners.

Be interesting to see if Ruger steps up and agrees to honor Marlin warranty claims for guns bought before their ownership. As for Remington's new owners, good luck!

Given that marlin isn't eat up with warranty work and that nothing is particularly hard to fix or hand fitted id bet that Ruger which is pretty well known to stand by their products will continue to honor newer Marlins. They only have a 5 year warranty anyway Remington I would say is screwed. Luckily there are more 870 and 700 parts than most any other gun anyway. But I probably won't be picking up a versa max like i planned.... Its a shame Ruger hasn't also acquired Remington. They need a good shotgun anyway.

Marlin wasn't particularly well known for standing by their guns for a long period in the first place. Many disclaimers by marlin about "lack of available parts" even though they still produced the same gun in the custom shop..... Also they only stated a 5 year warranty anyway. Just going by their own word though. They may have been better than they state. All mine are 50 or more years old. Some over 100.

I forgot to mention Tapco. I'm very glad they were bought and will hopefully resume production, but they had a lifetime warranty on their products.

I can't imagine a buyer honoring that. They were very good before, a call to them about a magazine spilling rounds resulted in two new ones arriving at my door.
