How would you get around it?

if you value your 2nd ammendment rights move to a state the recognizes them.

I've seen the Four Seasons ad -- I shop there but I need money for the lawyers that know gun laws which also advertise there. I can't even afford their reduced rates and they don't do pro-bono -- I asked. That said, if I can't afford a lawyer, I don't know what makes people think I can pick up and move someplace I don't have family or work. Wish I could and I'm working on it -- need a job first so I can start saving.

I wouldn't get around it. I would and I am working within the rules to get what I want.

I would suggest what has been sugested to me. Use the freedom of information act and see who has the class A permit you desire and why they got it. Try to find a few reasons that you could ligitmitly use for yourself. Then if you are denied you at least have a case for equal protection under the law if and when you get the cash for a lawyer.

The C&R wouldn't allow you to purchase any of the guns you said you wanted so I would rule that out.

The target and sporting Idea doesn't make any sense to me. How does sufering from hearing loss make loud noises painful.

After reading more of this thread I have come up with maybe a real good Idea. Why not try for a job with a security company that does both armed and unarmed security. After a little bit of time has passed maybe ask if they can help you getting your class A permit. Something like a letter saying that you have been an employee for X amount of time and that they want to have you as an armed gaurd. It may or may not work but it will at the very least put some money in the wallet.

So far unarmed jobs haven't been hiring; only the armed positions have been showing up -- like the one I'm intervewing for Monday. Regarding my hearing loss and loud noises, my audiologist said that people who have lost hearing due to Rubella as I have, are unually sensitive to loud noises. Hence, the pistol doesn't bother me with the ear protection I use but the revolver is extrememly uncomfortable because it's louder than the pistol.

Since I seem to have forgotten this sentiment up until now: Good luck with the job search. Mine recently ended, and I start on Monday. I hope your interview goes well. I am curious who you're interviewing with, PM me if you want.
