How would you handle this?

Be glad I live in a free country where people have the right to free speech.

Or fans of 1911 to do when they see "Glock Perfection" sign?

Nothing.

I say a little prayer for the Glock owner. :) And yes, I do own a G17 but I own a lot more 1911s.

I started shooting USPSA matches with 1911 after being "volunteered" to service them in my Army unit's armory then transitioning to Glock 22s to better meet major/minor power factors with a single caliber.

I am still a 1911 fan who has learned to appreciate the virtues of Glocks.

This appears to be a bit of a campaign, as I have seen it shared on Facebook too. As others have noted, it doesn't reflect a deep dive into the data and realities of human behavior. Just another superficial slogan, and unlikely to change minds of people who exercise analytical skills.

Show them that you are the better man. Send them a gift. A set of drums for their son is a good choice.
Or a gift certificate covering gun rental, range time, and an instructor to get them going at shooting. Just make sure they don't use the human silhouette targets that day.

I might, as time went on do an informal survey to be sure some out of towner wasn't out there sticking up silly signs. I might get a consensus of neighbors, that sign might come down. Pointing to myself with "Glock perfection" or other signs might bring a spate of unwanted attention from Karens and antis.

Ignore it.

"Signs don't vote." As I pointed out in other threads, the antigunners are flailing mindlessly these days, as they're realizing that their message is not getting through. Prepare to see more such signs, and more acting out, in the coming months. They're getting desperate.
Nonsense, they are just as well organized and determined as ever.

Just ignore the sign and keep driving.

There use to be a billboard right at I70 and I370 saying how all of the tax money from casinos goes to help Missouri schools and Missouri Veterans, which is a total lie. I would just laugh at that sign and keep going. No sense in letting a billboard get you upset.

Is this a small yard sign? I was thinking of getting one of those to deter burglars. They'd pass me right by thinking my house is the only one in the neighborhood without guns to steal.

If the money wouldn't go straight to Everytown, I might do it.

Born 1948.
I lived through local option alcohol prohibition 1953-1968.
In 4th or 5th grade I heard a "dry" talk about how he would not allow rubbing alcohol in his home, much less the drinking variety.
1968 Della Mae and I found we could call a certain cab company, ask them to go to Red Lee's, pick up Johnny Walker, and drop him off at the house.
By that last year, with repeal on the ballot, the rhetoric of the "Dries" grew awfully dire.
I don't think I ever tried to argue with a "Dry".
I did respect opinions from a radio commentator who always signed off with, "I ask not that you agree with me, but only that you think about it."

Ha. Put up a sign right beside it saying "The Second Amendment allows you to have the First Amendment" with an arrow underneath pointing at the anti's sign. If you live long enough to see the anti's get all the guns the First Amendment will disappear shortly there after. It might last five minutes.

I grew up in a dry county in Texas. It didn't stop people from drinking at all. it was only 40 miles south to the nearest package store in Howard county or if you didn't mind drinking Schlitz beer or Four roses whiskey there were umpteen bootleggers to buy from. Whoo-eee, Friday and Saturday nights were Schlitz time for the teenagers and boom time for the bootleggers. I'll take the Fifth on being a participant.

What would you do/say if you were in my shoes?

I'm a big believer in the second amendment, but also realize that the first thing on the founder's minds was freedom of speech.

You are entitled to your opinion, but so are they.
Also, you didn't say if this was a commercial permitted sign (like a billboard) or some home made sign stuck on a light pole or some such.

Several thoughts and I will explain: It wouldn't hurt to find out and maybe understand why that was posted. You may be surprised with why some people say the things they do. Sometimes they just need to be educated. The NRA has said it's time to politely and properly fight back by explaining your side of the issue, just as you told us. A month ago on the pulpit we were asked to pray for ending gun violence. After church, I went behind to alter to talk about the words used as "gun violence." He said he was talking about the lady shooter. I said you probably used the wrong terminology. Maybe violent crime would be better. I explained no one hears about baseball bats, knives, hammers or screwdriver murders, but they far exceed firearm crimes. The end result was the words will be changed in the future and he wants me to teach him to shoot trap later this summer.

No one said what kind of sign? Is it a small yard sign on a stick or a big billboard??:scrutiny:
Post a picture of it
Is it a legal sign as to location or on private property
