Well I am officially a wheel gun only man. I traded my last semiauto which was my XD subcompact 9 for a barely used Ruger GP100 4". I reload .357 so when the offer came across to me I "just had" to jump. The GP is immaculate and doesn't even look like its been fired. I am definitely happy with the trade, what do you all think?

Taking a quick look on google, I see Cabela's has XD9s for about $550-$600, while their GP100s are about $700. So price-wise, you seem to have done well, although I'm puzzled to see a revolver going for more than a semiauto right now. I was under the impression that revolvers were becoming less popular.

You also seem happy with your decision and the revolver sounds like a good one. All in all, I'd say you did very well and you came out on top in this deal.

I have been trying to get my wife to understand the "Art Of The Trade", basically when both parties are happy with what they received in trade then it's a good deal. I don't like to loose perceived money in a trade but at times if a person has been looking for one item for any length of time and it presents itself then that is the time to jump. But I think you did very good.

As a dyed-in-the-wool revolver guy, I completely approve of such a trade. And, were I not such a life-long S&W guy, the GP-100 would undoubtedly be my favorite revolver. They really are great guns. Excellent trade, Ggm.

If you tell me it was a stainless, full underlug, with adjustable sights, I think I'll go drop a bowling ball on my foot. It'll hurt less.

I see you posted the picture as I was writing the above. So, blue & full underlug, but what about the sights? Also, my big toe & all the little toes thank you for getting a blued one.

LOL, I woulda loved stainless also but the blueing is perfect. Adjustable sights. Glad you didn't have to drop a bowling ball on your foot :).

Congrats on a great trade! One that I would have done without a second thought!

What does it matter what any of us think...You're happy with your deal!

I've done several trades that have left others scratching their heads, but I've been thrilled with what I got. I've been trending towards revolvers myself. You did fine.

LIKE !.........I think you made a great move !

Well I got to fondle it some last night and man the thing is built like a tank! I am actually surprised at how good the grips feel. The grips alway looked fat and bulky to me but they actually sealed the deal for me when we met for the trade. I have medium sized hands but when I was inspecting it they just felt really good. I played around with the trigger pull with some spent casings in the cylinder and the DA is good in my opinion. It does stage but I actually don't mind it, the last "click" lets you know its "go time". Definitely different than my Taurus M65 3" and Smithy 36 which are very smooth but I'm sure it will smooth out as time goes on. The SA is everything you could ask for, crisp and light. Only thing I will change is the front sight, probably do fiber optic, the black is kinda hard to pick up. I'm sure this baby will last me many generations.
