I didn't see a formal place to post an introduction and I joined The HighRoad primarily to participate in this area, so HOWDY Y'all. I've been involved in shooting either bullets or arrows competatively since I was about 10. Metallic Cartridge reloading for about the last 20 years or so. As our kids have grown and moved into their college educated adult lives, I been putting more interest in collecting firearms for investment purposes. I'm shopping for a bigger safe.

I served as a Texas Peace Officer for two years back in the day, I currently work as a System Administrator in a global enterprise. I enjoy hunting, fishing, woodworking, reloading, and target shooting.

My reloading setup is out in my shop building, I'm currently tooled up for .308, 30-30, .45ACP, .45 Colt, 9mm, and .30-06. I use Hornady LNL AP and Lyman presses along with bits and bobs from many other vendors.

Welcome, I'm right up the road, just outside Giddings. Also a 40S&W fan even though the cambering has fallen off popularity of late . Wife and I joke we will retire to Brenham.

I've been using the handle for a long time. I used to be quite the 40 cal fan. Not so much anymore. I don't load for it and the pistols I have chambered for it are rarely seen outside the safe. If I'm packing heavy it's going to be with a 1911.

Welcome from balmy Indiana! THR is a great place, and hopefully you'll feel right at home. Jump right in, we are anxious to learn from you as well!

Welcome from a displaced Texan but I can travel 18 miles due east and be back in red dirt country. I have a lot of country to freely roam around in on this side of that line is why I stay.

I am starting to realize that a lot of us have very similar interested, outside of just shooting and reloading. The quantity of shooters that I meet, that also enjoy woodworking, is amazing!

Welcome!
