I know...I'm asking for trouble putting "opinions needed" in the subject line of any thread on THR...y'all be orderly and stand in line. ;)

I'm new to archery and would like some comments intended for a first-time bow purchase.

I'm just about to buy a Hoyt Ultrasport with an F-18 3-pin sight, CAP whisker biscuit, Hoyt quiver. Here's my reasoning...

*This bow with accessories will run me around $500...that's about what I want to spend (well, more like $550, but who's counting?).

*Of all the research I've done, it would appear that Hoyt is pretty darn high quality. Yes, I know that Reflex is essentially 'Hoyt lite' and is supposed to be really good for a better price....which leads to my next point...

*I've shot this bow and several others (including Reflex, Matthews, PSE, Fred Bear) at the archery store where I intend to make my purchase. This bow 'feels' right. No idea yet how accurate I am with it compared to others as none of the bows I tested were sighted-in for me. I was, however, consistent with all of them.

*The Hoyt Ultrasport has the draw weight (70#), length (31"), and speed (just over 300 fps) that I want.

Ok...anyone care to warn me/cheer me on before I drop half a grand on this thing?

I wouldn't worry about who makes whatever bow you end up buying. Just be sure to get one that fits you properly and feels right. Sounds like the Hoyt already does that for you so that would be my choice (and this is coming from a Mathews shooter :D ).
