I used to live in the USA; now I find myself in th
A friend is considering the purchase of one of these pistols, new.

But I prevailed upon him to wait 'till I asked for info or even better, experience that any THRers might have with this pistol.

Anyone know about these?

Anyone own one?

Are mags available?

Parts available?

Are they jam-o-matics or are they reliable?

Will they feed hollow point reliably?

I've heard good things about 9mm para Fegs, but this is a more powerful and "non-Hungarian" cartridge.

Any info much appreciated.

Their 9mm BHP clones are good...

...this one, I'll say pass!
Tell him to just save a little more and get a Ruger P90/97. They are the best pick in budget .45 ACP auto loader in the market, IMO.

hi,
I'm from Hungary, so I used such pistols.

The model is the beefed up version of the current Hungarian military/police pistol, the P9R (14+1, 9 mm Luger, DA/SA).
It means, that it is a Smith and Wesson M59-based gun.
Very heavy, 100% steel, not for CCW!

The .45 ACP FEG AC/ACK (the later is a shorter barrel model) is a typical FEG-product, if you can get a good one, it will be utterly reliable and undestructible. If you aren't so lucky, it will jam often, and little parts will broke frequently. The bad news is: the accurate ones are much less reliable.

A good advice: shoot 100-150 rounds before buy it!

Thank you much for the information and the good advice.

I've passed this on and he's gonna go with the advice and pass on this gun (the pic on SOG Int'l site sure was pretty, though).

The advice about the Ruger P90/97 is what I had told him myself.

He's got it narrowed down to a P90 or a Taurus P92. :)

Thanks again, very much.
