I'm looking at the Berger Hunting line of bullets

I read a while back not to use their VLD bullets on game, I may have overlooked their hunting line though.....

Thoughts???

They're kind of splodey, depends on personal preference and shot placement really, most days I like splodey bullets, but they're not ALWAYS the right answer for everyone.....

I am also interested in this. Looking for a good hunting bullet for my 6mm Creedmoor and the Berger Hunter line seem like a good option for long range hunting.

I don’t use them but Berger is known for probably the best accuracy and while I prefer a tougher bullet because I believe penetration is the most important quality of a hunting bullet, Berger definitely works

180gr Berger Hybrid from a 28 Nosler, 280 yards, bull elk. Didn’t hit major bone, made it to the important stuff, no exit. I don’t think it passed offside rib cage. It made it as far as it needed to though

Yeah I’m not sure how I feel about it either. Long as you don’t hit bone it’s great. For soft tissue shooting explosive is a good way to go

I like to hit bone or at least not have to worry about it

I’m more of a Nosler Accubond kind of guy

But a heavy Berger flung fastly is a proven killer as well

I'd rather have a more stoutly constructed bullet. Partitions turn my crank. If you only hunt deer and they aren't too big, maybe it doesn't matter.
