Anybody make one that wont break the bank, would a stoeger with 20 in barrels make a good game getter, squirrels rabbits and such. Thanks

I have a Baikal, actually a Remington Spartan marketed Baikal, I really like. It cost me a whole $299, ain't much to look at, but it's a heckuva shooter! It's a 20 gauge with 20" barrels and very light and quick. I LOVE THAT SHOTGUN mostly for dove hunting. It's very quick on birds that are here now and gone in a flash, yet I CAN hit with it out at 35+ yards on those long passing shots by concentrating a little. That thing is a dove killin' machine, do just as well with it average as I do with my 12 gauge repeaters with 28" barrels. But, it is NOT as smooth and one must concentrate on their swing for those long, sweeping shots. I keep the I/C Mod chokes in it, seems the best combo for dove hunting. I prefer my 12s for waterfowl, and my 10, steel shot ya know, but rabbit or other small game, the Spartan would be my first choice, personally, coach gun or no. I bought it 5 or 6 years ago and it's been my most versatile, most fired shotgun ever since. I'm taking it Tuesday morning for a little Texas late season dove action which closes on the 23rd.

It's all in what ya want it for, too. I got mine for a specific reason, fit the saddle bags of my GoldWing broken down. I go up to my buddy's in Waco opening of north zone every year and didn't like carrying a gun case on the back exposed for all to see at gas stops and such. I wasn't sure I'd like it for the whippiness I knew it would have, but turns out I love the thing. :D I don't own the wing anymore, but do own two other bikes, but that thing is my choice even if I'm taking the car or truck. :D

I have a Stoeger CoachGun I use for CAS and have shot it a bazillion times without a hiccup. If you shoot 00buck out of it it will make you cry :D it throws a nice pattern at 40 yards though.

I think the longer barrel version is called the Uplander and would probably be better for hunting.. longer barrel..longer sight plain.. and would probably swing smoother.

just my two cents
