Went quail hunting today. Either those quail are hard to hit, or I really suck because I didn't shoot one. We saw tons of them though, although they were very jumpy, and some jumped way out of range.

I did get a rabbit and a dove though. Those will be good eating tonight. The meat is already marinating in the fridge. Overall, had a great time, and I can't wait to go next week

Congrats on the hunt.Cool that you can hunt rabbit and dove at the same time, here in MO the dove season ends in Oct,about 1 month b4 rabbit season opens.Just hope you were not shooting rabbits over a bird dog,if you were good luck keeping the dog on birds only from now on.

No bird dog. I've always thought it would be cool to have one, but I'm just afraid if I hunted with a bird dog in some places in Arizona, I'd spend more time pulling cactus out of them than hunting. I spend enough time pulling it out of myself :).

And while big game is somewhat hard to draw for in Arizona, it seems to me in the short time I've been hunting here we have pretty good small game seasons. Grambels Quail runs from October to February if I'm not mistaken. Rabbit is year round. There are two seasons for dove. A short one early in the fall, and a late one that runs from about the first of december to january. It's nice to be able to go out hunting and have a variety of animals to shoot.

Mo was on the draw for deer tags but the with the explosion of the growth of the deer herd you can go to any store that sells tags and get one tag for an antlered deer and in many counties there is no limit on doe tags during the season
