But I scratched up the slide rear cover plate on my Glock 43X MOS being careless...so I got an American flag version from Bastion gear.

It took me about 30 seconds to swap out.

While I was at it I got a metal Glock tritium night sight set from Glockstore and put them on using my Vism sight pusher and a Glock front sight tool.

These took about 10 minutes to swap out, taking my time to put the rear sight slightly to the right to counter my astigmatism.

I like the look of the new slide plate so much I think I’ll be swapping out the slide plates on my other Glocks with a flag slide plate... just because. :)

I’ll admit it took me quite a while to warm up to polymer framed pistols, and to Glocks in particular because I found them so blocky and ugly when I first saw them, but their reliability and the ease in which parts can be replaced, swapped, fixed, etc. by anyone (even a schmoe like me!) is amazing.

Anyone else doll up their poly pistols a bit?

Stay safe.

Looking Good!

I use a micrometer to center my rear sights when I swap them out. Dead center still works for me.

I have removed the finger groves on my 19, undercut the triggers on my 19, 26 and 30SF and added Talon Grips to my 48 and 43.

All my Glocks get an internal polish job and then they are good. They are kind of like Legos for adults...

EDIT...sorry I tried to write this on a tablet...I meant to say undercut my trigger guards.

Nice! Those all are mods that certainly add to the shootability of your guns , I’ll Dremel down the edges of the right side of the Glock trigger guards to keep a blister from forming on my middle finger as I shoot, and I added flat triggers to a couple because the trigger safety lever on my 43X and 17L stuck out when depressed just enough to drive me nuts. (The 34 and 19 don’t have that issue.)

I’ll agree, Like the AR, Glocks are easy enough to modify and customize that they are lego-esque in the way an owner can make one their own by adding or subtracting pieces anytime they want to. I still wish they had a bit more “soul” in the way they look and feel, but I guess one can’t have it their way all the time :).

I only own one, a SA XDm 4.5" .40S&W. Shot it once, six mag's, put it back in the box and in the safe. It's been there ever since - but will be coming out as soon as I start reloading .40S&W. I'm not a "fan" of poly's, Glocks in particular, because they don't fit my shooting style, hands - I have big, blocky palms - and I find the balance points to be "off" for me. The XDm is "okay" but I like having manual safeties, the balance of a steel frame and the "grab" of checkered wood grips. I have the ODG XDm so, to my mind, it's already all dolled up. ;)

I like the flag emblem, where-ever it resides.

I had a USP .45 that I carried from 1994-1995, then I went back to a SIG P226 and sold the USP. It didn’t fit me well either, plus the trigger wasn’t “H&K worthy” IMHO.

I didn’t get another polymer-framed pistol until I was issued a Glock 19 in 2007. Now I have several polymer framed pistols, most are strikers like the Glock but a few have hammers (Ruger LC series).

This is the first time I’ve added any decoration to any of my guns, usually I’ll just put on better feeling grips and/or night sights like many of the others stated above. After the installation, I realized I like the look of the flag end plate over the plain versions.

You will have to get in the habit of saluting your Glock before you can shoot it. :D

Am not a plastic fantastic fan, but I did dolly up a SW Shield with Apex trigger, Ameriglo sights and Hogue grip sleeve. Those did in fact have a positive effect on shooting and group size.

I did just send out one of my CZ PCRs for hard chrome and DLC controls. Just keeping my pimp hand strong.

I agree they don't come with a soul, but I think they buyer has to add that part. Here is my original Glock 17 that I bought when I turned 21. I still have my first Sport/Combat holster and extra mag pouch that I picked up when I bought the gun. That was high-tech stuff back in the day. We have lots of miles together and when I pick this one up I can't help but feel the soul.

I haven't yet. I need to replace some springs though and I think about it every time I look at parts. I feel it's only a matter of time.
Yup. And then it becomes routine.

Not to hijack the thread or nothing but, back in the mid80’s I came across a pawn shop find: a near mint Colt 1903. I got it pretty cheap to stick in the lining of my riding jacket. Folks weren’t too kind to motorcycle riders sometimes. Between the sweat and getting banged around it wasn’t too long before it stopped being anywhere close to minty. It wasn’t the metal, I kept that oiled and clean, it was the grips. Ever since then if I’m going to carry a gun at all, the original grips go into a box in the safe and don’t come out. Unless they’re a dirt common grip and already well worn. Then they only get swapped if they don’t feel right. Just about every gun I own has aftermarket grips. None of them are blingy tho.
