Aguila Standard Velocity ammo. The tight-wad in me was wondering if with increased availability, the prices might come down further. Given another election looming, I chose to dive in.

Target Sports was selling cases of Aguila SV for $369 last week with free shipping. I snagged one before they disappeared a few moments later. Thanks, Kirby.

This it the first i have purchased with the new box:

I tested a box this morning in my CZ 452 American at our Crooked Oak, AL range (50 yards):

Note — after firing the top two groups, I came up three clicks and back one in elevation, and for windage, I went right two clicks and back one. It was exciting to rip the little black diamond on the last three 1" flame dots.

Seems to group as well if not slightly better than the older stuff. I think a better shooter than I could keep it in a half inch center-to-center. The cartridges look identical — lube, crimp, etc.:

I sucked it up and bought two bricks of Wolf Match ammo on my last SGAmmo order. It was a bit painful, but considering I'm wanting to build an accurate .22 LR rifle (since even with the price its STILL cheaper than shooting .308). I figure its a good investment for marksmanship basics. Now if I just just manage to build the rifle before the next Appleseed event here in Tucson...

I found most of my .22s seemed to prefer Wolf Match Target over just about every other brand out there, so I stocked up on it years ago while it was still relatively inexpensive. Glad I did!
