Hopefuly this will not go anywhere. I think there are way too many gun owners in this country that will fight it. This is all a big backlash to get us all stired up. As if they need anymore reason to try to take our guns. I know the threat of deadly force has saved my life once. Take my gun, I don't think so! :cuss:

claire Wolf is right......America is at that awkward stage; it's too late to work within the system, but too early to shoot the bastards.
We're getting closer. A few more years perhaps.

Second, support H.R. 808, a bill establishing a Department of Peace and Nonviolence, which directly addresses the issues of domestic violence, gang violence, and violence in the schools which is reflected in our current homicide rates.

And third, the 33 deaths at Blacksburg constitute a national tragedy. So, too, does the fact that an average of 32 people each and every day in the United States perish in handgun-related incidents. Accordingly, I am drafting a bill to ban the purchase, sale, transfer or possession of handguns by civilians. A gun buy-back provision will be provided in the bill.

Well I definetly see more grandstanding coming up. But I fail to see how either bill will make this country safer...for anyone except criminals and those like rosie who can afford armed security guards.

I don't expect the bill to go anywhere, but it is still important IMO for two reasons.

1. Who cosponsors it?
2. Could this lead to a compromise bill?

"isnt that what we said about AWB2. its getting some wind in its sail"

EXACTLY! It's always the same with the same conclusions. It's really too predictable...

Added days ago to http://leveron.com/john/rights/ (trying to link all of the things coming out of this, and mix in posters that "hit hard")

Any links to sites you deem factual and helpful, please forward them to me to add? We can't let our guard down, now is the time to pressure for less restrictions on our pre-Constitution rights, and to press to remove barriers to CCW.

Venting to the choir, but you all know in a free country, it's bound to happen again. If it has to, I want it ended quickly, like the Appalachian tragedy linked on the page above. (CCW works)
