“The level of violence in our society constitutes a national emergency. I’m offering an approach to change America’s direction away from death and disintegration and toward life and social cohesiveness.” -Congressman Dennis Kucinich (D-OH)

Dear Honorable Congressman Kucinich,

WE the People already have an approach to change America's direction away from death and disintegration and toward life and social cohesiveness.

You yourself Sir have been served well by this approach, and have so all your life. At this very moment you are being served well.

Are you surprised sir? You should not be.
You took an oath to defend this approach from all enemies, foreign and domestic.
What is this approach you ask? The one you took an oath to defend?

Constitution of the United States.

Respectfully,

Steve

So the answer to violence is to create another government department...which is funded by taxation under the threat of violence.

Hahaha! Exactly!

While this may be statistically correct, this probably isn't a phrase that will help your cause.

I can't imagine how much fun an anti could have rebutting this point: "Oh good! You're already agreeing that gun ownership is an archaic and immoral institution!"

New Slogan:
Guns. Hey, at least it's not Slavery!

Kucinich lives in another world and by no means represents or speaks for all Dems. To associate Dems with gun-control and using Kucinich as an example is not entirely fair. That is like saying all Republicans want to reduce gravity because Sali wants to. http://statesoftheunion.blogspot.com...bill-sali.html

Apples to oranges...

Kucinich is a POTUS candidate - a potential standard-bearer for his party - and is serious about his proposal. Sali isn't, and wasn't.

Talked about Kucinich with my Poli Sci teacher (one whom, with all due respect, I would call a "rabid leftist" without reservation.)

She said Kucinich has no shot at POTUS.. and that the Dems think he's "a little fringe"..

Not that we shouldn't write him and tell him he's being counterproductive (substitute that with low-road commentary as you see fit, in the privacy of your own correspondence.)

He's also stated his intent to file impeachment charges against Cheney. I wonder how that's going.

The first time I saw Kucinich, I was flipping channels and came across some sort of candidate's debate . . . Kucinich was speaking.

As the Almighty is my witness, not knowing him at all, I honestly thought he was a fringe candidate from the Socialist Worker's Party or something equally extreme . . . not liberal, but out-and-out leftist, the sort of dangerous lunatic that makes Teddy Kennedy look like Rush Limbaugh.

I was shocked to learn he was an elected Democrat from Ohio.

I really have no idea how this guy keeps getting elected. Most anyone I talk to in Ohio agrees this guy is crazy. Somehow he never goes away and is always making it back to the news. He did a great job ruining the city of Cleveland as mayor, I think he needs a shot in congress? It is embarrassing to say he is from my home state, but not too many people I know take him seriously, dem or repub. It really baffles me how he can get elected, I even think he said recently hes running for president. I wouldnt hold your breath on thinking any legislation this fool introduces has any chance. pure garbage, sounds about right for kucinich though.

I guess we get the type of government we deserve. If we elect anti-gun politicians, we will have ani-gun legislation we will be frustrated over.

But then, maybe we should keep our friends close, but our enemies closer...

Kucinich is someone you can ignore. He's as wacky as they come. Responding to him just might make him or someone else think he matters.

Absolutely! Even the Washington Post the other day was making fun of him regarding the Cheney impeachment conference he has called. The only one taking Kucinich seriously is Kucinich himself.

I guess Kucinich forgot he held up a copy of the constitution the other night and talked about defending it.

He is also drawing 165,200 a year is base salary. This should be enough to cause people to revolt. This clown isn't worth the 200.
