Snoop-with-Limited-Edition-Mafia-II-Gun-Lamp.jpg

So... ignore Snoop Dog (the man in the picture). I want to point out the lamp he's holding. I would love to have a lamp like that!

Designed to look like a model M1911 pistol, and similar to the one that “Mafia II”‘s main character Vito undoubtedly carried during WWII, it is now an expertly crafted to provide light to my desk. Even though it is made out of plastic, and with a light bulb sticking out of the barrel, it still does look pretty realistic, even though almost no one would mistake it for something that could fire.

Making lamps is rather basic arts-n-crafts handy work. The trick is finding the niche pieces (yes, that's a pun) that take off in the marketplace, or just doing it for your own satisfaction.

So send me any real modern handgun, shotgun, or rifle in good condition as a model for the lamp you want, and I will send you a lamp for $50. All submitted models become the property of the lamp maker. :D

Doesn't really do anything for me. I like the lodge decor lamps and pictures availavle at Cabelas and Hobby Lobby. For me the Real gun is what counts not the altered gun lamp. What do you do, shoot the light bulbs out?

Be fairly easy to do a 'spring load' holder for a real pistol in a lamp frame.

The uber paranoid could keep their home defense pistol right there on the end table, next to the TV remote. Hidden in plain site.

That's actually a really great idea, Zotter... Or a holster made from clear PVC mounted on a lamp frame that you slip your gun into... Custom made for your model of pistol :D

why does the John Candy/Dan Akyroid movie "The Great Outdoors" come to mind?
anyone in posession of a side-by-side scattergun floorlamp chime in!
