I purchased a Kel-Tec 9mm today - with stainless steel slide and two magazines for $259. This was used, BTW.
I traded in a gun that was a good gun, but it was NOT fun to shoot. Why? too expensive (to shoot). Although, I didn't buy it for plinking - it was purchased originally for taking large game - a Taurus Raging Bull 44 Magnum.
It was accurate, but it mostly collected dust.
I took the remaining money from the revolver on the trade and had the gun shop order a Mossberg 500 Youth (Bantam) 20ga. pump (22"bbl) for my wife - mostly for home defense.
She cannot effectively weild the Mossberg 500 "Persuader" 12ga. that is our primary home defense gun now - she is VERY uncomfortable - and I don't think she could use it effectively in an emergency.
The gun shop had an 870, but she is familiar with the ambi-safety on the top of the receiver of the 500, so I decided to stick with that for continuity - a sort of "his and her's" home defense shotgun set.
Weather permitting, I would like to take the Kel-tec out for a spin tomorrow. I currently also own a Kel-Tec P32 - and I have been very pleased with it. I also used to own the Kel-Tec 40 cal - I did not like it for several reasons, but I think I will like this 9mm.
